Casey Stoner

It’s hard to tune into any kind of motorcycle race without hearing mention of Casey Stoner. He has won a number of titles over the years, including the MotoGP World Championship in 2007 for the Ducati Corse and he was also named the Young Australian of the Year in 2008. He has gone on to win a second world championship of MotoGP in 2011, this time for Repsol Honda.

Riding a motorcycle isn’t easy. It requires special training and a special license. For some, it comes naturally. For others, it requires quite a bit of work. For Casey Stoner, it came naturally. His first race was at a dirt racing track at the age of four. He didn’t win a race until the age of 9, however from that time until the age of 14, he went on to win 41 titles for dirt and long track and then 70 state titles.

There are various tracks where you can learn to ride a motorcycle. Experts will rent you a bike or you can bring one of your own. You can practice on dirt or asphalt tracks, picking up momentum until you are ready to start trying out the racing circuit. If you’re good and you’re not hesitant on the bike, you may be able to go quite far.

In Australia, there’s a legal age of 16 to compete in road races. Casey Stoner was only 14 when he wanted to start on road races. He and his parents decided not to wait the two years. Instead, they moved to England, where the legal age is 14. He competed in several championships throughout Britain and Spain and went on to win some of them as well.

If you plan on being a motorcycle racer, you need to determine what type of bike you’re going to race as well as what track you wish to do most of your races. If you want a dirt track, you can find races all over the country that you can participate in, regardless of your age. However, if you want to get involved in road races, you need to consider your age.

Casey Stoner has natural born talent on a bike, but he’s also worked hard to get where he is today. He’s sacrificed a lot, moved to a new country and practiced. If you want to reach the same level of success, you need to be willing to put the time in.
